Topic: The letter 'V'
For this tutoring session, my tutee and I went over the letter 'V'. At first she wanted to draw a van on the letter 'V' she had cut out, but then we decided to go with vases and she added flowers to the top of the 'V'. She was just about done drawing and coloring but then my internet connection stopped working properly. She could still hear and see me, but I could not hear or see her so we had to use the chatbox function a lot for the last 30 minutes of the session. I did not want our session to go to waste so I played a YouTube video about the months of the year (which I was planning on doing sometime during our time together), but that seemed too easy for her so we switched to a video about American holidays. To wrap-up we watched a Schoolhouse Rock! video (she loves these videos) about American independence to tie it into the 4th of July celebration coming up soon. I told her we'll go over nouns, verbs, and adjectives starting 'V' in our next session.
