Topic: The letter 'T'

For this session I went over the letter 'T' with my tutee. As I mentioned before, she has a whole space on her wall dedicated to most of the letters of the alphabet that are shaped like different things that start with the given letter. For the letter 'T' she wanted to make it into a turtle so she cut out a giant 'T' and then drew the turtles body on the 'I' part of the 'T' and then drew the turtles arms on the '-' part of the 'T'. She is very artistic. As she's drawing, I have her explain to me what she's doing since her mom asked us to work on her speaking skills. When she's all done coloring and drawing, she tapes it to her wall and then we go over nouns, verbs, and adjectives that start with the letter 'T'. For adjectives, I use the word in a sentence, highlight the adjective blue and the noun yellow so she can see what the adjective is modifying and where it is usually placed in a sentence. At the end of the lesson we went over conjunctions again and answered some fill-in-the-blank sentences about adjectives starting with 'T'.
