Topic: Nouns
For this tutoring session, I went over what nouns are with my tutee. I started off with some example sentences and pointed out what nouns are. Then, I showed her the nouns video by Schoolhouse Rock! and she really enjoyed it. We went back through the video and I would pause it at different places and ask her what the different objects were and then asked what part of the noun it is (person, place, or thing). She is so smart and catches on easily, by the end of the session, I would hold up three fingers and ask her what the three parts of a noun are, and she would answer: person, place, and thing.
