South Korea has a well-established tea culture so much so that the numbers of tea shops rivals the number of coffee shops. We discussed the tea culture as a schema building activity before reading an article. To challenge his ability to speak on different subjects, he read an article on the history of the British cup of tea. We found it stimulating and interesting to discuss this subject because it was new to both of us. I started the conversation with some comprehension questions about the article and then the conversation got a little more relaxed and I continued to correct his mistakes.
