At the beginning of the lesson, I wanted to do a short listening comprehension activity with Dave. I had him watched a short clip from a cartoon and asked him questions on the video. A few issues arose in this part of the lesson, the main one being that the video was too fast for him to follow. He did not let me know until the end fo the video, but I should have paid attention to his facial expressions to get a better idea of how he felt. Dave is good at expressing himself through his facial expressions. So when I slowed down the video to an appropriate speed, he was then able to answer the questions properly.
After that we went over the topic of articles, this too was an issue. He was having difficulty understanding the concept. Very much so to a point where I decided to postpone the topic for next time using a different approach. Instead for the remainder of the time have him free write and give him feedback.
