The topic discussed: Classes, transportation, Korea

Cultural and/or linguistic topics you and your partner learned:

At the beginning of our conversation, Hangah, and I talked about classes ending, finals, and classes taken in the future. I let her know that I completed my TEFL course and need to just turn in some assignments. She was very happy and let me know that I will be a good English teacher in the future.

This turned into a conversation in how I will move to Korea for the Epik program. She let me know that the best place to move to is Busan. Her reason is that Busan is less populated and but still modern enough for me to navigate around easily. Transportation in Korea is very cheap and I can go to Seoul quite quickly if I want a weekend trip. Since they pay for your apartment during the Epik program, she told me that there should not be any issues for me to find a place to stay.

Some things she told me to be aware of is that Korea has a strong recycling program and can be very strict on what is allowed to be recycled. The variety of vegetables is a little smaller than here in America and the fruit can be quite expensive. There is also a small variety of cheeses, mozzarella and cheddar can be found, but swish or pepper jack might be difficult to find. Hangah also informed me to pack deodorant because the products in Korea are not as strong as what is sold in America.
