During this meeting, we decided to talk about the current events that in going on in America. We spoke about the issues dealing with polices brutality taking the life of unarmed black Americans in the last couple of months. I tried my best to communicate to her the political issues dealing with all minorities in America from its inception, although it was quite difficult to do. She informed me that she was scared because in her home country the police force was something to be relied upon and not fear. If there was ever an incident such as this then all of those involved would be fired and the laws would change. She told me the story of how her teacher informed them that he could not come to work due to being pulled over by the police. They threatened him even though he only caused a minor traffic violation.
On a positive note, Kim told me that she went to Nagoya and absolutely loved it. She loved the steak and didn’t realize that the amount of food that they gave was a lot. I informed her that if she did not want to go to the restaurant to get the food, she can have it delivered through apps. I went through all of the possible apps for her to get food without driving. She was surprised that there were so many apps to order food with. She wanted to know which app sells wings because Koreans love wings, which was all of them.
We then went onto the discussion of which movies and television show we should watch. We have a lot in common in terms of movies and shows. She loves Game of Thrones, she loved how unpredictable it was, as well as, the character personalities.
