Topic/Skill: TOEFL Independent Speaking Practice

Feedback provided: Halima has improved a lot with independent speaking. We did about 10 exercises. I did not have major corrections for her during this lesson. She was very confident in her responses and I only occasionally corrected her grammar and delivery. She does a good job of correcting herself during her response if she catches herself making a pronunciation mistake, so I did not have to correct many mistakes in regards to pronunciation. She is also very self-aware and tends to give herself feedback after each response.

Lessons I learned: It is important to still be picky with students even if their responses are improving. There is always room to improve! It is also important for students to be able to identify areas of improvement. This will help them study more efficiently and strive for higher quality work.
