This evening I finished my 11th tutoring session. After all the confusion teaching "The Lorax" I decided to do a listening exercise using the last book in the series I'm so interested in called "What to do with a Chance".
My tutee seemed visibly happy to be returning to this material and our class was much more upbeat from the start. As usual we went over any low frequency vocab and phrases I had identified as being a part of the story beforehand. It was surprising to me how smoothly the class went when the material was back at a reasonable level for my tutee.
My tutee and I also chatted about his availability in the future and it seems as though he won't be able to do any more sessions with me now that his new semester is beginning. This is an issue I will have to remedy in the coming week.
