Topic/Skill: U.S. government
Feedback provided to tutee: My tutee asked to learn vocabulary regarding the U.S. government structure. With the upcoming Presidential elections, he wanted to gain a better understanding of the positions and structures in place in our government. We discussed the role of the executive, legislative, and judicial branch and the requirements to vote and run for office in the U.S. We also discussed the election process and compared each of these to governmental structures in Saudi Arabia.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: Ahmad was surprised to discover how many people are eligible to run for President. I was surprised to learn that in Saudi Arabia, to work in the government you must be completely Saudi for seven generations in your family. We both also learned differences in culture regarding respect for the President or King and expectations for government officials in checks and balances.
