Topic Discussed: Kubra and I focused primarily on differences in the U.S. and Turkish university systems. This is a topic we discussed a few weeks ago, but with classes beginning fairly soon, Kubra was a little bit confused and had some questions before her classes begin.

Cultural and/or linguistic topics you and your partner learned: Kubra and I both learned about differences in the tuition process in universities in the U.S. and Turkey. In Turkey, university is free unless you attend a private university. Kubra was confused because she had received a scholarship form FSU, and she thought this amount of money was what her tuition would total, as this is how it would be presented in a Turkish school. We then discussed different opportunities to find scholarships or tuition waivers within the university that were not necessarily common in Turkey.
