Ryan Flemming's Reading Class

Ryan Flemming is a fantastic teacher with a wonderfully kind demeanor. he effectively engaged the class and made everyone feel at ease. During this class, the students were instructed to read through part of an article called Warming World. The article discussed global warming and was meant to challenge the reading abilities of the students. Mr. Flemming had recorded himself reading the excerpt out loud and had the students listen to the recording while following along, reading the text. This was helpful for the students because it enabled them to hear the correct pronunciation of each word and to hear which words received more emphasis. Students were put into small groups and asked to find the main ideas of the passage. I was inspired by Mr. Flemming's friendly personality and positive teaching style. I also will consider making audio recordings of myself reading as a teaching aid.
