Differences between Bogota, Columbia + Tallahassee, Florida
I had a great talk with Luisa today. Since yesterday was my birthday and tomorrow is her birthday, she put a Happy Birthday banner as her background! We talked for an hour about the differences between her city and Tallahassee. In Columbia, instead of the term "Major" to describe what someone is studying, they use the term "Career". I also explained the term "Minor" to her and we talked about the cost variants between the countries. I also explained what Finacial Aid is and what/how Loans work. I learned that in Columbia, cars have a license plate that either start with even or odd numbers. These numbers mean that the owner of the car can only drive on certain days (EX: Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday). If you own an electric car, however, you can drive any day you want, because it is better for the environment. Either way, traffic is very bad there. We talked about how walking for 30 minutes to an hour to arrive somewhere is very common in Columbia whereas here, it is more common to drive a car or take a bus.
