Classroom Management: Friendly with Authority 

Materials: VOA reading articles, Google Docs template for mutual typing

Student Participation: Professor James created certain moments of pausing to ensure that each student participated and answered her question. She has the students type sentences in the chat of Zoom. If something need to be corrected, she would call on their name and ask them to type it again. 

Feedback: I really enjoyed sitting in on this class and I believe I learned a lot. I liked that in the beginning of the class, she created a conversation about the full moon that will be occurring tonight and related it Ramadan, which most of her students are currently participating. 

Lesson on Teaching I Learned: I learned about a new site called Voices of America which is an article based site for those who are learning English. She told me that it helps the students understand more when the materials are based on their interests. They enjoy it more and comprehend it more. I also learned that in reading base classes, it is beneficial to have a foundation of building block sentences.
