Classroom Management: Friendly with Authority 

Materials: VOA reading articles, Google Docs template for mutual typing

Student Participation:  For the participation today, Professor James had each student choose an image that they wanted to write about from the VOA website. She created some questions regarding paraphrasing and had the students answer the questions. She worked with two of the students and had me work with another, Khalil.

Feedback: I really enjoyed how she allowed the students to choose and image that resonates with them. This way, they will feel more connected with their writing and remember the skills easier. 

Lesson on Teaching I Learned: Because Professor James allowed me to work one on one, I got a feel for setting a pace with a student. I asked controlled questions when Khalil didn't understand the original one to help guide him without telling him the answer. I said "great job" every time he got the answer right and he seemed really excited when he did.
