Topic Covered: One of the students led a class discussion on whether or not social media is good for kids to use. Many of the other students chimed in with their opinions. This helped them formulate a stance on a multifaceted topic.

Student Engagement: All of the students had to participate in the discussion at least once

What I learned: It is important to be able to formulate an opinion statement using background knowledge.
