Adrian Green TS #1

Summary of session:
I planned this first session to start with introductions followed by asking my student if he had any identified areas of English he wanted to improve in. Our introduction went well but when we reached the part where I asked him about his English and about what he wanted to learn morewhere he didn't have much to say. Furthermore he wasn't particularly sure about how to answer the question. Following this I decided to move directly into the discussion section where we learned about eachother and talked about our lives. I did some correcting and explaining of some parts of his speech from time to time but I more often kept quiet as I didn't want to be constantly interrupting my tuttee.

My thoughts:
I was actuallly rather taken aback by how eager my tuttee was to focuse solely on conversation. I was okay with this but part of me definitely felt guilty or at least uncomfortable about not having done much traditional work or "actual teaching" as it were. However I thought the session was overall a positive and my tuttee seemed very eager to have more sessions in the future.
