Today was my first class with a conversation partner and, much as I expected, it went more smoothly than my more structured time with my tutee. This is not to say that one was inherently better or easier, but just that I myself am much more comfortable and familiar with talking to others who don't share a first language with me, than I am with formally teaching said language.

My conversation partner is an advanced English student and has a fairly good grasp of the language so we were able to have a fairly complex \conversation. At first I didn't want to use too much low frequency vocabulary but as we talked it became evident that she was at a level where mid and high frequency vocabulary was easy for her. Overall I thought the session was a success and we are set to have a session on a weekly basis.
