For this tutoring session, I was in the car for the whole duration of the session, driving with my sister and her boyfriend to visit my dad in North Carolina. I was not driving, I was in the backseat, but the reception and internet connection was spotty so the session kept cutting in and out. Since I was traveling, I thought it would be a great opportunity to talk about the U.S. states and capitols. I had my tutee watch two different videos about all 50 states and 50 capitols. We had briefly discussed different cities and states in the past (Vegas when we discussed the letter 'V' and Washington state when we discussed the letter 'W') so this was a great way to cover more content. After the video would talk about each state and capitol, I would have my tutee repeat after me and I would listen to her pronunciation. If she mispronounced a word, I would make sure to help her out by explaining the shape your mouth should make when saying the word and what sounds were being emphasized.
