For this Wednesday session, my conversation partner and I discussed the movie Shawshank Redemption. In our previous meeting we discussed the movie The Green Mile, so we compared and contrasted the two classic American films. We discussed how Shawshank Redemption had a happier ending because (SPOILER ALERT) the main character escapes prison at the end of the film, whereas in the other movie the guy has to live a long time and think about the man he wrongly killed. We discussed our favorite parts of the film, mine being the scene in the prison library and hers being when they unveil the secret tunnel to the outside world. For next time, we plan to watch the 2019 version of The Lion King, because we both realized that the other films we were watched had heavy content.
