Introductions + Elephant Story
I had a wonderful conversation with Luisa today. She is 28 years old and moved to Tallahassee from Columbia. She moved in February to start the CIES program at FSU. Back home, she lived with her Mother and two brothers. She enjoys swimming and works as an accountant in Columbia. She said that Americans are perceived in other countries to be very serious but she has met nice people. She is nervous to talk to her roommates and new people because they speak very fast and she can't understand what they are saying. I told her to try asking people to speak a little slower because she is learning. When we talked about the Elephant story, she said that she liked it because a lot of the new people that she has met are from different backgrounds, cultures, and religions. She respects all of their points of view. She is a very kind person and I really enjoyed talking to her!
